Introducing our new Shell Aqua print

It’s been months in the making and not without its difficulties (hello global pandemic!), but we are so utterly excited to be able to finally share with you one of our new gorgeous beauty bag prints - Shell Aqua.

We cannot tell you how fantastic it feels to share with you this new print. Decadent, flamboyant and full of promise and optimism, it encapsulates just how excited we feel about what’s on the horizon. In spite of the year we’ve had, there have been some real positives. The time out allowed us to step back, refocus, reroot, and grow -  stronger, wiser and with new fresh ideas.

Now is exactly the right time to try something different and we hope our new Shell Aqua print inspire you as much as they have us. Here, we take a closer look at the collection and Victoria’s inspiration behind the style…

The inspiration behind the style from Victoria

My dad is an artist and on the wall in my office, I have one of his paintings - a wonderful scene set in St Ives, Cornwall. It captures the colours of the sea and the sky; it is this that gave me the inspiration for the blue colourway of Shell Aqua. But I didn’t want to create a coastal or driftwood style print. Beauty bags are intimate and personal to you, you don’t share them with anyone and when you buy a new beauty bag it’s a treat and makes you feel good, a little like buying lingerie.

They should have a touch of glamour and luxury to them and when I’m looking for glam I am drawn to the decadent Art Deco days of the 1920’s. To me, no era was more stylish and flamboyant than the ‘20s and '30's. I love how they mixed different prints and were experimental and creative in their shapes and designs. This is where I looked for inspiration for the gold shell pattern. The contrast between the blue, the gold and the shell pattern is decadence personified.
