We're back with our castaways and this month we invited Jasmine Wicks-Stephens, founder of _Faace Skincare, to share with us what she would pack in her beauty bag should she find herself on a desert island.
Jasmine founded the no-nonsense face mask brand, _Faace, after working in the beauty industry for 15 years and still not being able to find one simple low-maintenance product that could solve her skincare woes. _Faace debuted with three simple ingredient-packed masks - Tired Faace, Sweaty Faace and Period Faace - and soon became a cult, sell-out brand. So what would a beauty aficionado take to a desert island? We couldn’t wait to find out…..
What 5 items would you pack in your beauty bag to take to a desert island?
1. MAC Face & Body Foundation
Specifically in shade N2. I’ve tried A LOT of foundations and always come back to this one. It’s lightweight, sheer and leaves my skin looking glowy. Plus it gives just the right amount of coverage and is buildable if you do want a slightly heavier finish.
2. Sweaty Faace
I use this every night and sometimes in the day too. I have combination skin that’s on the oily side and it helps keep spots at bay without being too drying.
3. La Roche Posay Effeclar duo
This is a great lightweight moisturiser. It's inexpensive, hydrates the skin nicely but also sinks in well. It’s a good blemish buster too.
4. Tisserand Aromatherapy Tea Tree and Aloe Skin Relief Cream
For whenever I do get an angry breakout. I also love the clean smell of tea tree.
5. Wild Science Lab Head First Shampoo and Conditioner
It uses CBD to soothe a stressed scalp. I get a flaky scalp and this helps clear things up whilst making my hair feel healthier and look less damaged from all the bleach.
In addition to your 5 selected beauty items, which other luxury item would you take with you to the island?
Glossier Cloud Paint Cheek Tint - any of the pinky peachy shades. Fuss free, slap it on essential to make me look more alive.
